Hello everyone! Betsy here today showing you how to make
a sweet gift bag with a cut out design!
For today’s project I used a die. However, if you don’t have one,
you can google “make a homemade gift bag” and many sources will show up.
Pinterest is also a great place to find measurements, etc.
First I gathered my materials:
Using the Best Glue Ever for this project insures me that when I use the bag
for a gift, it won’t be falling apart!
I first die cut my piece twice from patterned paper. I used 12 x 12 sheets
for this. My paper also had a pattern on both sides.
I decided I wanted to back the cut out heart with some glittery paper. I simply
cut a piece that would fit and glued it from behind.
I think the effect is really pretty! And the Best Glue Ever really adheres to glitter
paper well. Next I simply glued my bag together putting glue on the tabs along
the sides.
I then adhered the bottom pieces – side pieces first, then the front and back flap.
Just to add a little more bling I added some gems from Wheels of Embellies to
various places on the heart. I used Embellie Gellie to do this – it works great for picking
up tiny embellishments! I repurposed some yarn from my stash to make
the handles and that finished my gift bag!
This came out so sweet and was easy to make. Even if you don’t have a die for
this, with measurements it’s just as easy. And you don’t have to worry about the
bottom of the bag falling apart with the Best Glue Ever!
