Hi there! Kim L. here today to share some more junk journal extras that I created with the help from the family of products by ScraPerfect. I am really enjoying making and altering items for use in junk journals and today I made some mini envelopes. I hope you like them as much as I do:
My mini envelopes are vintage themed, but yours can be done in any style you choose to coordinate with the journal you are working on. I selected vintage book and music paper to use for mine. To get started, simply fold you paper into an envelope, Next, place tiny dots of the Best Glue Ever on the sides of the envelope. I always have a large No Clog Writing Cap on my bottle to ensure I don’t use too much glue, it works great!
Once my mini envelopes were assembled, I used some Distress Inks and Oxides around the folds and heat set. I love the aesthetic these add, especially when using vintage paper!
Next, I got out my Mod Podge and some pretty printed tissue paper. I tore the pieces I wanted to use, and decoupaged them onto my mini envelopes. I really liked how you can see the vintage book and music paper through the tissue paper.
Before the Mod Podge dried, I grabbed my Tiny Bottles Of Embellishments and sprinkled them on the roses on my mini envelopes.
Before moving on to the next step, I let them dry for a few hours. Now it is time to embellish these up! I used some vintage buttons and lace. To attach these to my mini envelopes, I used glue dots of the Best Glue Ever. I put the glue dots on the mini envelopes ans waited for them to cure and turn clear before adding my embellishments, I am pleased with how they turned out and will be perfect for my rose themed junk journal. Here is a closer look at my finished envelopes:
I hope you will try some mini envelopes for your junk journals too! They are great to put tickets, tags, and journaling mini cards in.
