Hello and welcome to the blog. Shelly with you, sharing a trendy, tropical layout with DIY foiled pineapples!
While touring the booths at Creativation this year, I was seeing lots of pineapples, the color coral and gold accents.
I knew I wanted to bring these elements to this layout.
I picked up a box of multi colored wood veneer pineapple shapes (sold as table scatters) on clearance at Pier 1 Imports – you never know where you might find a treasure for your craft room stash – I’ve always got my eyes peeled for a bargain!
I wanted to make them really POP on this layout – Transfer Foils to the rescue!
ScraPerfect Transfer Foils are so easy and fun to work with – no special tools needed.
- Simply apply a thin layer of Best Glue Ever on item to be foiled – let set until it starts to turn clear
- Apply Transfer Foil (color / shiny side up) on your item to be foiled
- Rub with your fingertip
- Pull Transfer Foil off quickly (like removing a band aid!)
Play around with the foils for different effects, I wanted some of the coral background to show through my foiling for a more shabby chic look.
