Snowy Layout Featuring Lawn Fawn and Distress Oxide Ink

Last week’s unexpected snow fall in the northeast was the inspiration for this layout.  Lucky for me I had coincidentally picked up these Lawn Fawn snowflake dies and a few other winter-themed items. Well, I say lucky, but honestly I’d prefer that the weather had stayed spring-like.  My kids were thrilled with finally having a snow day off school.

To make this layout I took a white tag and a Lawn Fawn stamp from their Cheery Christmas set,  Versamark watermark ink, and clear embossing powder. Before stamping I treated the tag with the Perfect Crafting Pouch, which helps keep the embossing powder on the ink and off the rest of the tag.

Look! No stray embossing flecks!

Next I broke out my brand spankin’ new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.  I used four different colors to ink the tag, and then flicked water droplets all over the tag before the ink dried.  Love this effect!

To assemble the layout, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflake die set and the Large Dotted Rectangle Stackables with their Perfectly Plaid Winter 6×6 paper pack.

I wanted to show you how easy it is to attach embellishments with the Best Glue Ever.  All you need are a few tiny drops — and I made these drops straight from the bottle! The tip of the bottle allows for very precise control. Four drops is all I used to hold this snowflake. Easy peasy!
