I took my daughter to a JoAnn’s to pick out fabric for a sewing project and discovered some cool EK Success products, including these wood veneer sheets. And the label said they work with punches. Sold!
But wood isn’t a standard stamping surface, is it? To help the ink grab onto the surface, I treated the entire sheet with the Perfect Crafting Pouch before stamping.
A word of warning: this surface isn’t totally flat! You’re going to have the grain show through your image. I kinda liked the distressed look I got.
And it did work with punches (well, most of them). I found that the EK Success and Stampin’ Up punches worked really well. Fiskars, well…. not so much. These will make really cool embellishments for my projects.
I decided to add a couple to some of my Project Life pages. Here’s the start of my July pages where I’ve used it on two different page protectors (Design H and Design A). I like coordinating products between pages where you can see the overlap. I’ll be adding photos in the 8.5×11 protector that’s in the middle; right now it’s only holding a souvenir coin.
I think this technique would be great for summer themes, camping, outdoors and travel. What would you use them for?
