Cards from Scraps!

One of the best ways to use up those little odds and ends is to make cards. You can combine all sorts of scraps and make great backgrounds. Here’s a few Halloween cards I put together.

I had quite a few square-shaped pieces left over from projects. I grabbed a A6 flat card and the Best Glue Ever and randomly adhered squares all over the front. After trimming the edges, I filled in a couple of holes with tissue tape and adhered it to a larger sheet of leftover paper.

I used a large sticker as my sentiment. But I didn’t want for it to get lost in the background, so I used foam squares to raise it up. First, I pounced the back of the sticker with the Perfect Crafting Pouch to deactivate the sticker.

And here’s another option for all those random sized strips. I grabbed another A6 flat card and the Best Glue Ever and placed thin lines all over the top of the base.

Then, I was free to add my strips randomly over the top of the base. I didn’t worry about pieces hanging over the edge. You can see what it looked like at this stage – before trimming. Once I was done adding my strips, I turned the card over and trimmed around the base.

The next step was to frame the base with some orange patterned paper and a black card base. A bit of ribbon and a tag from the same Echo Park paper line is all this needs.
