Summer Wreath

I made this lovely summer wreath quick, easy and cheap. At my local Michael’s I picked up a styrofoam wreath shape, a roll of 6″ wide burlap, and package of three plaster starfish. Add some Best Glue Ever and you’ve got an easy wreath!

To start I made three wide strips of the Best Glue Ever along one side of the wreath. I made them wider than normal because the burlap is quite gauzy, and I wanted to make sure I got a good hold.

Once the glue was dry and tacky, I started the end of the burlap on the glue strip, then just wrapped the burlap around the wreath until it was covered. I overlapped each wrap and kept pulling it tight around the form.

Once I had finished, I cut the burlap and added glue around the edges. This became my back side of the wreath.

The starfish and flowers are all attached by the Best Glue Ever.  I made several burlap flowers by cutting approximately 12″ off the roll then cutting it in half. I placed a line of the Best Glue Ever on each edge, then folded each piece in half (the long way). Then, I added another line of glue to the bottom of each strip (the fold is at the top):

I then rolled each strip up into a flower shape and added more of the Best Glue Ever to the bottom before adding it to the wreath.  I raided my stash and found some ribbon and paper flowers to add, along with a few small shells.
