Here’s another colorful layout memorializing Jayn’s youth. I remember this day when she fell asleep amongst her birthday presents, wearing her new leotard and all dressed up. I used some postage stamp stamped images, colored with Colorbox inks as some of the embellishments because some of her gifts had arrived by mail from our relatives in Australia. Lots of colored Dew Drops placed with the Embellie Gellie. I’ve been wanting to use some of my collage figures with zentangle clothes that I draw. This is the first layout. These are all available free for downloading – the links are on my blog under “Downloads”.
I inked the edges of the photos and used the Perfect Crafting Pouch to dry that ink. Then I used my Perfect Cleaning Cloth to clean up the dust residue, and incidentally remove my fingerprints from the photos – I had been holding them by the middles to do the inking. I used Best Glue Ever throughout including the fabric and silver lame ric-rac braids I used as border details. I had some Thickers lettering – but let me tell you they were quite old, and I definitely didn’t trust the glue over the 3D elements, so I augmented it with the Best Glue Ever. I created varying depth by using a combination of levels – Eco Board, craft foam and layered stickers and chipboard elements, including my hand made tag with stamped tape.
Oh and by the way, did I ever make a silly mistake! I had carefully made a selection of sticky dots and strips on piece of sticker release paper. I was all ready to use it on some embellishments, and it wouldn’t lift off. I had used the wrong side of the paper. Doh! Well at least I now know just how good and sticky Best Glue Ever really is.
