It’s getting close to St. Patrick’s Day and that mean leprechauns, green and shamrocks, and getting crafty with a bit of the Irish Luck! We’re not Irish, but we still enjoy the holiday and my kids still think that a leprechaun visits the house to play pranks (usually turning something green).
Here’s a tip to use up those scraps – use multiple pieces of paper on your electronic cutter. I have a Silhouette Cameo. For these projects I copied my shamrock shapes until I filled the cutting page. On my cutting mat I used three pieces of paper.

NOTE: if you’re going to do this, make sure you space your designs so that you’re not cutting across two pieces of paper!
To assemble my projects, all I need is a bit of the Best Glue Ever. Not only is it perfect for applying small amounts of glue, but it does everything – paper, plastic buttons, foam – you name it!
I picked up a pack of small burlap-covered canvases at Michaels. I like the burlap background and thought they’d be great for home decor projects. For this one I used images from Mary Watkin’s (PaperScraps) Flickr photostream. The pins are stuck in a scrap piece of foam which was glued to the canvas, ontop of which sits a handful of the shamrocks.
For adhering a collage image to burlap, I scribbled a bit of the Best Glue Ever onto the back and used my fingers to spread it over the entire back of the paper.
My second project was to decorate my March calendar. I grabbed a couple more shamrocks, then added button centers.
Attaching buttons? No problem. You can either use the Best Glue Ever wet or let it dry to tacky before sticking the button on your project.
