Michelle here with you today, to share a project that I had created and entered into the August Challenge over at Canvas Corp Brands, the theme for this challenge was “Let’s Visit The Cinema”, using ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever & Transfer Foil.
Most everyone has seen or at least as heard of the movie “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”. As for me, it is one of my all time favorites (major Audrey fan here) and anytime I think about the movie, I think of Holly GoLightly’s carefree lifestyle & her elegant fashion sense. And of course her bling accessories. And this frame does not lack on the bling element.
I started with a cheap (99 cents), two-sided plastic frame I had bought at IKEA. I first prepped the frame with gesso so that the acrylic paint would more easily adhere to the shiny plastic frame. Once the paint had dried, I used a couple of my favorite sprays to add a slight shimmer.
My embellishments included crystal cabochon’s, vellum printed film strip, cut cardstock film clapboard, a movie reel, stars and rhinestone trim.
Now plain cardstock stars were just not going to do for this project, so I used ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever along with the No Clog Writing Cap to apply fine lines over the surface of each star & the movie reel, and lightly spread over the surface.
Once the BGE dried to a very soft, not wet and not completely dry tack, I then applied ScraPerfect’s Transfer Foil on each star using a popsicle stick. I also used the Best Glue Ever to apply each crystal cabochon.
The finishing touch of course was a mini print of a poster promoting the movie, and one of the most iconic views from the opening film sequence I added to the backside of the frame.
ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever, No Clog Writing Cap & Transfer Foil were the perfect products to use making this project, no doubt about it.
