How to make the Best Glue Ever Flow Easily Again!

Hi All-
Amy here with a couple quick suggestions if you find your  BEST GLUE EVER™ too thick to easily squeeze out of the bottle.

It worked for Leslie, the customer who contacted us this week with the question…in fact, read her email and her reaction!

Hey there! Is there a magical way to get the Best Glue Ever to easily flow again? We moved several months ago and I’m still unpacking craft boxes, and my Best Glue Ever is so thick it will not flow through the no-clog writing cap. It has never gotten too cold. It’s several years old too… is there a life span for it? If so, I may need to buy another bottle and another no-clog cap. Thanks very much for your response!

                                                                                                   Leslie

Hi Leslie!

ABSOLUTELY! You shouldn’t have to buy either… until at least your glue is down to the last drops (which could be a very, very long time). The no-clog cap should last and last from bottle to bottle if you keep it clean, although you could always buy a couple of new tips. Most glues do have a lifespan and it’s usually 6 months to a year. The BGE has a lifespan, too, and “officially” it’s a year, but I’ve never had one nor heard of one that dried up or went bad before it was all used up — and I mean after years and years! (Wait, no, freezing will destroy it pretty quickly turning it into a gelled, unusable mass.)

To get the glue flowing again:

1. You may add water—but do it very s-l-o-w-l-y. Start with just a tiny bit as you can add more if needed, but even a tiny amount will make a huge difference!  THIS is discussed in the FAQs on the website page of the Best Glue Ever.  If you haven’t been there, you might find a bunch of useful information. Scroll down and you’ll see tabs for videos and FAQs.

2. Is your cap tip clean? There are FAQs on the no-clog cap page about cleaning the cap—along with video(s). For one thing, take the cap off and see if there’s buildup underneath. Use a toothpick or skewer to clear it out. But maybe more importantly, make sure the tip is clear and clean. I have switched to regularly applying a bit of Best Cleaner Ever onto the pin and it has eliminated the need to do a periodic thorough maintenance cleaning…at least so far.

A few hours later, I received the following reply:
Squeal! I took the tip completely apart and cleaned it, cleared a globbed layer of glue off the surface of the glue inside the bottle, and added a tiny bit of water. Those maneuvers made all the difference in the world. Now I’m back in business! Thanks so very much for taking the time to respond to my inquiry on your website!
Thanks again and I hope you have a great rest of your week!
                                                                                                     Hugs,  Leslie
