A Card for Japan

Hi, all. Today, I created a shaped card to remember Japan’s tragic TSUNAMI/Nuclear disaster about one year ago. I purchased a stamp set where a portion of the proceed would go to those victims.

To make the card base, I cut/embossed two die cuts from Spellbinders Picot Edge  Circles die #4 (smallest die is #1). Scored from the edge about ¾” of the back card base, adhere with The Best Glue Ever and match up the two die cuts to create the base.

For the card front, I cut/embossed with a smaller Picot Circles die #3 in black cardstock and a Standard Circles LG #5 in light gray cardstock. Layer and adhere both onto the card base as shown. Using the Embellie Gellie, place all 15 pearls around the circle.

The main image was heat embossed so I covered the cardstock and the copy paper with the Perfect Crafting Pouch to catch all the black embossing powder and to get a clean stamped image.  As you can see from the pictures, I was able to accomplish both!

After heating the powder to emboss, I stamped the red heart and the word “hope” to the image. Next fussy cut the image and adhere in the middle with foam tape for dimension.

Here is another look at the card…

Hug your loved ones a little tighter!
I am thankful everyday that my family and my husband’s family in Japan were and still are OK from that disaster J

Thank you for stopping by!
