Hello Friends!
Welcome to the ScraPerfect blog.
Michelle here to day, sharing with you a very simple, and fast way to create a Christmas themed canvas, sure to be a pleasing gift to anyone that loves Christmas.
I chose to use a 4×12 size canvas for this project, as I wanted a line of tree’s, and this seemed to be the perfect size to do that, but any size canvas will do just fine, just play with the design!
I first painted the canvas using Plaid Acryllic Paint in Cottage White. Set aside to allow to dry.
Picking from my Christmas Scrapbook paper stash, I chose a “MERRY CHRISTMAS” worded sheet, in shades of green, a red snowflake patterned paper, and a plaid green pattern as well.
Using my Cricut machine, I cut one design in trees from each sheet of patterned paper.
In small dollops using the No-Clog Writing Cap & Best Glue Ever, I went around the entire backside of each tree, adding each one individually, creating a line across the middle and the length of the canvas.
With any “accidents” of slippage, I used the Perfect Crafting Pouch, lightly tapped onto those sticky area’s, and brushed away with a soft brush.
You can barely tell there was a glue mess, let alone feel any tackiness.
Repeating the exact same process, I decided to create a second canvas, using the other two patterned papers.
To seal the canvas, I suggest using Mod Podge or even clear gesso.
If you do not have die cutting machine, you can use ANY Christmas tree template to create this style canvas.
So if you find yourself in a pickle for a quick Christmas gift, use your artistic skills and create a simple, yet pretty Christmas tree canvas too!
