Hi everyone! Leslie here, and I’m back on the blog today sharing a super easy birthday card. I created a fun layered birthday card with an unusual feature that sure packs a powerful punch! So let’s get started!#ScraPerfectgetsdowntoEarth
This is a bi-level card base, meaning the front flap is cut slightly shorter than the back flap (which you’ll see in a minute). I colored the digital image with colored pencils and cut it with an oval die, then adhered it to another oval die cut with Best Glue Ever and a No-Clog Writing Cap.
I adhered both oval die cuts to the front of the card base with Best Glue Ever. I picked out five paper flowers that I wanted to use and applied Best Glue Ever to the backs of each. I let them dry to a clear state so they were nice and tacky, and then applied them to the front of the card. This is some pretty amazing glue. It always remains tacky, and letting it dry clear will ensure a superb bond. These flowers aren’t going anywhere. 😉
I used Embellie Gellie to place the tiny white flat-back pearls in the upper left and lower right corners. Just mold a little bit on the end of the stick and without fail, it aids in the placement of your embellishments. Use a small bit for tiny embellishments and a slightly larger bit for larger embellishments. There’s just enough ‘tack’ to pick up the embellishments which easily release onto your project. Pretty awesome, if you ask me! 😉
For the inside, I adhered the paper layers and sentiments with Best Glue Ever.
As mentioned above, the back flap of the card base is slightly longer than the front, so the main birthday sentiment strip is visible when the card is closed.
