Hello and welcome! Shelly here sharing a cute and clever way to give a money gift to a graduate this year!
Designer tip: To make your card extra special – be sure to use the school colors!
Let’s gather our supplies:
- ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever
- ScraPerfect No-Clog Writing Cap
- Card base – Smooth White Cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 folded in half
- Textured Cardstock (Bazzill) cut to 4 x 5-1/4
- Textured Cardstock cut to 3-3/4 x 5
- Patterned Paper (Stampin Up) with a Textured Cardstock Mat to Create Pocket
- Stampin Up Balloon Celebration stamp set and Balloon Bouquet Punch
Cut your card pieces:
My cut sizes are:
- Card base – Smooth White Cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 folded in half
- Mat #1: 4 x 5-1/4
- Mat #2: 3-3/4 x 5
- Pocket Mat: 4″ wide – height cut to your preference
- Pocket Patterned Paper: 3-3/4″ wide – height cut 1/4″ less than pocket mat
Assemble basic card with ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with the No Clog Writing Cap. Will not wrinkle paper and the tip makes it so easy to apply adhesive with precision.
Create embellishments:
I used dimensional foam “dots” and metallic sewing thread to complete my balloons. Don’t worry about your foam tapes and dots losing their adhesion in the future – add some Best Glue Ever!!
Attach embellishments to card.
Final Touches:
Now, fold your $20 bill to create the year 2020 and tuck in the pocket.
Designer tip: Courtesy of Amy from ScraPerfect (wish I would have thought of this!) scan and print your folded $20 bill, cut it out and glue into pocket – – once recipient takes money out to spend – the “2020” will still be there!
Be sure to continue your card to the inside and even the back! A sentiment on the inside and a signature or “handmade” stamp on the back.
Make your gift meaningful:
Money is always a great grad gift, but adding something thoughtful and personal makes your gift extra special
I found these beautiful, delicate oil diffusing bracelets (perfect for my bohemian graduate!) from Naturally Pure Designs – comes with a small sample of oil – – and look how perfect the oil blend:
The small pouch is from Thirty One – and what better sentiment for a graduate than to “Dream Big”
One last look…….
Thanks for stopping by the blog today – have creative week!
