Hi everyone, Ginny here and today I’ve created a fun card using a fun technique to create a glassy look on a card. I wanted this coffee cup to look like beautiful Mexican pottery. This card is going to a lifelong friend, we have sat at coffee and solved the world’s problems for the last 33 years!.
I really wanted it to be special!
I really wanted it to be special!
Here is the card and after if you are interested, the process :
I stamped my card on Heavenly White Cardstock and colored with alcohol marker. I added lots and lots of ink and then I added Twinkling H2O’s and Microbeads.
For the background, I used Designer Paper and beautiful ScraPerfect Gold Leaf Transfer Foil.
I simply placed my stencil on the paper and rubbed a little of the Best Glue Ever over the cut out areas
I removed the stencil and waited about 15 minutes to allow the BGE to set up and then simply lay the foil sheet over the paper and glue and gave it a going over with my brayer. 15 minutes later I pulled the sheet off and dusted with a paintbrush.
And here is where the photos didn’t come out – sigh…
On the coffee cup body I used a matte finish coating and for the decoration, I used liquid crystal to give it that pottery look, the gold just gives it a rich look
Now here is a tip, you may know this already, but if you don’t this will save you a lot of money!
I’ve been making my own glue dots for years, I can make them big or small ! Years ago I posted about this So you know I know it works!
This is so simple
You simply just make little dots of glue and let them dry!
One bottle of the Best Glue ever will make thousands and thousands of dots. So thrifty!
They will last a long long time!
I hope you give these techniques a try, they really are simple and will help you make a mailable WoW card!!
Thanks for stopping by!
