Hello crafty folks, welcome to the ScraPerfect blog. Michelle here with you today, sharing a brief step by step tutorial on how to create a layered card using ScraPerfect‘s Best Glue Ever, No-Clog Writing Cap, Embellie Gellie, Perfect Crafting Pouch.
I actually had received a card last Christmas, created by Laurie Moore from Moore Art From The Heart, using textured cardstock. The card totally inspired me, however I did not want to copy the exact design, but rather make one of my own. I chose a 5×5 heavy white cardstock for the base card. You can use texture, or printed cardstock for this project, but I chose plain colored cardstock. The only similarities are colors & stamped image.
I used embossing folders to add texture to my design. Using my cutting machine, I cut a “funky” pine tree from dark cardstock, and colored it with a variety Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, and heat embossing with clear embossing powder to seal and give more texture.
For a crisper stamped image, I used the Perfect Crafting Pouch in a very light tap & sweep motion over the cardstock to be stamped.
The matted elements in the card design, were cut in various rectangular sizes. Each layer I glued together using the Best Glue Ever with a No-Clog Writing Cap, which actually gives a precise amount of glue, rather than using too much.
The No-Clog Writing Caps can also be used to write with glue, used with glitter glue like Stickles, pearl paint like Liquid Pearls, and even can be used directly with acrylic paint bottles. In three various sizes, there is plenty versatility to choose from.
For a finishing touch, I chose to add large & mini aqua colored Dew Drops from The Robin’s Nest once again using the Best Glue Ever and applying the dew drops with the Embellie Gellie to add an elegant element above the stamped image.
I have to say, I was once intimidated by beautiful layers cards such as this, but this card was so very easy to do, and I see more in my creative future.
