Hi Gals,
It’s Karen….and I brought a cute cupcake card to share. It is super easy to make this quick birthday card. I love how this glitter is so chunky that it makes great imitation sprinkles. Make a bunch of these as it is a great birthday design for anyone of any age.
Directions:
1. Stamp a cupcake image onto white card stock using black ink. Color the cupcake base as desired.
2. Prepare a mixture using small portions of glitter in the colors you prefer. I created a blend of every color glitter to make a rainbow mixture of faux cupcake sprinkles.
(TIP: Have a small container ready and available to store any left over glitter of your unique custom blend.)
3. Use a popsicle stick to spread some white texture paste as faux frosting on the top of the cupcake. I covered the stamped outline with texture paste for a more realistic appearance. (TIP: If you plan to cut the cupcake away from the background, don’t worry about applying the texture paste neatly within the lines.)
4. Work quickly to add the frosting so that you can immediately add the rainbow glitter sprinkles.
5. Cut a piece of pattern paper to size. Use BGE to attach the pattern paper to the glitter card stock. (TIP: Notice that I have applied minimal amount of glue along the edge in a super thin line.)
6. When the texture paste has dried, carefully cut out the cupcake. Adhere the cupcake to the lower right corner of a card base.
7. Attach some flags to a piece of baker’s twine and cut each into a triangle. Then add the string of bunting along the top edge of the card.
8. Finally, attach the finished front to the card base.
Other Supplies: card base 4×6″
white card stock / pattern paper / glitter card stock
cup cake stamp / black ink pad
markers / white pearl texture paste
