It is Karen here…today I brought a non-paper craft project to share. Today’s project is a home decor item to hang in my niece’s bedroom. The darling sign felt incomplete because it was so flat. I decided I could enhance the rainbow by adding transparent gems over the design. The great thing about clear gems is that they can be put over any color. For added interest and a sense of movement, I increased the denseness of the gems along the left side rather than having them all equally spaced. The Embellie Gellie was incredibly useful to attach the gems with ease making it a relaxing and rather quick little project.

Before
Directions: Begin to plan the placement of the clear dome gems.
Simply place them temporarily on the design without adhesive
until you are pleased with the arrangement. Follow the edges of the design.
Use different size gems so that they can be placed more closely and interlock creating a mosaic effect.
Create different textures by increasing the amount of space between gems and creating less dense coverage.
Apply dots of BGE in small sections and use the Embellie Gellie tool
to select and transport the clear gems into place.
