How to Fix a Stubborn Pair of Scissors

Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it with a quick tip for your scissors.

The other day I needed a pair of scissors and my husband handed me this pair and said they were stubborn and I would probably have to use both hands to get them open. No problem, I have a fix for that! Best Cleaner Ever to the rescue!
To begin, I made sure the scissors weren’t rusted. Then I sprayed each side of the scissors with the Best Cleaner Ever. Picking up the scissors, I then opened and closed them a ton of times to work the cleaner into the screw area. After they felt like they had loosened up, I wiped down the scissors with a paper towel.
Next, it was time to try them out. I cut some scrap paper and cardstock with the scissors. One to make sure they were working better and two to make sure I wasn’t going to transfer any of the cleaner to the surface I was going to cut.
And that was it, a quick and easy fix. For a deeper clean, I could have taken the two parts of the scissors apart and really gotten into the areas that I could see. But I will save that for another day.
