Hello there crafty friends!
Welcome to the ScraPerfect blog.
Michelle here today to share with you an easy way to make a fun & whimsical gift package embellishment, using the Best Glue Ever & the No-Clog Writing Cap to put it all together.
Here is the supplies you will need to make one yourself.
Paper Flower
(I used patterned paper and my Cricut to cut one
but any will do)
Solid Cardstock
Glitter
Distress Oxide
Inking Tool
Metallic Thread
Embossing Folder
Embossing Machine
Paper Doily
Paper Cutter
AND
ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever
ScraPerfect Perfect Crafting Pouch
ScraPerfect No-Clog Writing Cap
To begin, as stated above, I selected a layered flower design and cut it using my Cricut Machine, however, ANY flower will do.
I wanted a bit more depth on each petal, so I opted to use Distress Oxide in Picked Raspberry shade, so it had more of a chalky like finish, and added with my inking tool.
Then I shaped & curled the petals of each layer of the flower, I glued them together using Best Glue Ever.
While letting it set, I used two shades of pink solid card stock, cutting the light pink in a 1/4 inch strip the full length of the 8.5×11 cardstock, and then cutting the hot pink in 3/4 of an inch strips, and cut 4 strips of each.
I used a polka dot embossing folder to add whimsical texture to the hot ink cardstock strips, and then cut each strip in half, and coiled each around a pencil.
I then used Best Glue ever, and used paint brush to add the glue to each strip.
Now for the fun part. The glitter…..not.
I added two layers of glitter to each strip then set aside to dry.
I also added the glue to the petals of the flowers and added pinches of glitter.
Glitter, adds so much beauty to projects, but boy is it messy!
No worries. I pulled out glitters worst enemy, and my FAVORITE glitter release tool, ScraPerfect’s Perfect Crafting Pouch!
I lightly tapped the pouch over the area’s that missed returning to the bottle
(guess I should have turned my floor fan off….oops?)
Anyways…with a few light taps of the pouch, and a stiff brush, the glitter removed easily from the surface of my work mat.
This pouch, AMAZING!!!!
Now back to my embellishment project.
Once my glue had set the flower and glitter, I began putting it all together.
I cut each of the glittered strips in half and then using Best Glue Ever, glued the inside of each strip end to make a loop. I then uncoiled the hot pink strips, and began glueing them to the white cardstock backing.
Each strip was added in an alternating pattern, hot pink, to glittered, then hot pink and so on.
I added silver metallic textured thread, very thickly to the “bottom” of my flower, and then a few strand around the rest of it, gluing it all using Best Glue Ever.
The final touch, was adding a delicate paper doily to the back.
Such an easy project, and not very time consuming.
And this made possible by the innovative ScraPerfect products.
