The idea behind this project is to work on a page a day for a week, including the cover. Each day choose a word that is truly meaningful to you, and dedicate an embellished page to it. Spend time thinking about the word and what it means, as well as experiment with different lettering. The biggest challenge is stopping each day and only doing one word at a time.
I used mostly inks, water color crayons and artist’s acrylic paints on a folded scrapbook page mini-journal. (Find the template here – scroll down.) Then I used Best Glue Ever and Embellie Gellie, the perfect pairing, to finish up the cover with Dew Drops, for a little sparkle.
My journal has a limited color palette but different lettering styles, and I used rub-ons – but you can use any method you like including collage, or make every page a different color, or elect to use a cohesive style. You can use abstract sketching, as I did, or adhere photos (another great use for BGE) or use stamped images – or focus entirely on the lettering.
