How to Make a Paper Christmas Diorama

Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it with cute paper diorama for the holidays.

I had fun making this diorama entirely out of paper. I have always enjoyed working with paper and whenever I can challenge myself, I try to create something out of paper in three dimensions. This is my first framed diorama but I don’t think it will be my last.
Materials:

Directions:

Using a Krome Kote postcard, I applied blue and silver alcohol ink for the background of the diorama. I also spritz some dye ink and stamped some wind swirls in a playful fashion.
I cut the frame out of black cardstock and stamped Merry Christmas on the top edge of the frame. I wanted to emboss the words in a glitter type embossing powder but it didn’t show up well. So I had to fix things.
I ended up stamping and embossing on a strip of black cardstock. This is where the Best Glue Ever came to the rescue. I glued over the flubbed embossing and you would never know it.
all fixed!
I stamped a variety of images onto white cardstock and used a Scan N Cut to cut the images out. You could fussy cut with scissors but the Scan N Cut makes it really easy and quick.
these are the images I stamped and then colored with markers
I used the Best Cleaner Ever to clean up my ink on the stamps and stamping platform. Thankfully it also conditions the stamps and leaves them like new.
I then glued everything in place using the Best Glue Ever. Unfortunately, I was so focused on crafting, I forgot to take pictures of the piecing process but here is what I did:
1. I placed the background into the frame
2. glued a tree to the background
3. glued the house and another tree in place with some foam tape
4. I added 2 more trees and the snowman with a folded piece of black paper glued to the back of the image and the bottom edge of the frame.
Here is an odd angled shot of the diorama that might help explain the different layers of images.
