Charity here from Scrappin’ Chaos with an innovative way to make laptop parts into a practical clip. My son loves to tear apart defunct electronics to see how they work. He recently found a laptop to disassemble. I rescued a few of the keys from his discovery and made them into a book mark.
I wanted to use four keys to make “BOOK” but of course only had one “O”.
I pulled out my black acrylic paint and altered the “Q”.
After collecting the remaining letters for “BOOK” and “READ”, a strip of magnet, a piece of craft foam, and a giant paperclip I was ready to get started.
First I cut craft foam to fit inside the cavity on the back of the letters. A squeeze of the Best Glue Ever and the craft foam was solidly in place.
Next I glued the letters to a square of kraft paper.
The magnet strip wasn’t as large as the word square. I cut it the length of the square and glued it to the kraft paper square.
Once both my word squares were completed and dry I clipped them on either side of the giant paperclip.
They also can be placed directly on either side of the page to mark the readers place.
