This is a flip doll made from muslin that I’m working on for a commission.
When I started to draw with an extra fine sharpie, the ink began to bleed despite the undercoat of flesh toned acrylic paint. You can see it if you look closely at the nose and lips of the face.
Thinking quickly, I grabbed my Perfect Crafting Pouch and treated the fabric before continuing – presto sharper lines especially on the eyes. I then went on to paint with acrylic (for the white) water color crayon d’ache and pigment inks. I felt like the surface was pleasantly “grabby” for the paint.
