Shelly with you today, bringing some Harry Potter Christmas inspiration!
I am a HUGE Potterhead (Harry Potter Fan) and I have created some Harry Potter inspired Christmas ornaments using ScraPerfect Transfer Foils.
Transfer Foils are SO easy to use and do not require special tools or gadgets — just some good adhesive (like Best Glue Ever) and your fingertips are all you need to create some magic.
#MagicalMarchWithScraPerfect
My first ornament is a doe Patronus (think spirit animal!)
After painting my wood slice with Navy Blue (to mimic a nighttime sky) and tracing around the edge of my paint with a silver Sharpie (to clean up those edges and add a nice highlight) I used my Cuttlebug and a Tim Holtz Christmas die to cut out my doe.
Spread Best Glue Ever over the entire die cut shape using finger or sponge brush and then let it dry until clear and tacky.
Place Transfer Foil – shiny side up – over your die cut and rub and press. Rip foil off quickly (like a band aid!) to leave a beautiful shiny surface.
I used the Stars Holographic Transfer Foil on my doe.
To finish this ornament, I coated the edge in Best Glue Ever and rolled in Heidi Swapp Marquee Glitter – -my favorite glitter to work with.
My next ornament is Slytherin House Crest in the Slytherin House colors of green and silver. For a different effect, after painting green and white stripes on my paper mache base, I used a bristle brush to spread my adhesive – – once I used the Transfer Foil, it gave a nice sparkly, textured effect.
My Slytherin banner is an internet image printed on the textured cardstock, attached with a foam mounting square and highlighted with Dew Drops.
Once again, I coated the edge in glue and rolled in glitter.
And finally… The Golden Snitch!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today – have a crafty week!
