How to “Recycle” an Old Calendars to make Easy, inexpensive Embellishments.

Amy here to wish you a very happy, healthy, peaceful and creative 2014, but before you throw out that old calendar let me show you some simple way’s to recycle it in your crafting projects.

If you use a wall calendar in your office or in your kitchen, chances are you chose it because you like the graphics. Repurpose it! Save images to use for cards and embellishments in the year ahead.

Hearts in February? Great for a Valentine’s Day card!  Apples in September? Perfect to School embellishment for the teacher! Pumpkins in October? Just the right touch for an Autumn layout.

Depending upon the calendar theme, there are probably lots of flowers,
fairies, cupcakes, butterflies or animals, and maybe even a good quote
each month. Simply save the pages to cut when the time is right, or you
might have a better chance of actually using them if you get punch-happy
now.

To add a touch of sparkle, I applied dots of the Best Glue Ever with gold glitter around the circumference, and then added a bit of holographic glitter to the wings of the bee.

(And yes, this is a recycled post…published originally in 2013.)
