• The pouch works by laying down a very thin powdery coating, but you really don’t need to apply much to achieve excellent results; in fact, you might not even see the powdery coating at all. Therefore, start by swiping very lightly and doing a test. If you didn’t apply enough, you’ll know because either the ink won’t dry fast or it won’t be crisp and dark. Though this could sound intimidating, it is not rocket science, and pretty quickly, you’ll get a feel for how little or how much you need.
• If you keep the pouch handy in a soap dish for example, you’ll think to use it more often and find it indispensable. The dish will also contain any possible powder seepage to keep your work table neater. (If you don’t like plastic, use an antique ashtray:)
• The pouch is designed with a lining to prevent the powders getting your hands messy. Therefore, if you set the  Strap N Tap upside-down no powder will come out onto your table.

No, although the Perfect Crafting Pouch does dramatically improve printing and speed drying with an inkjet printer, it also does this for many other types and forms of ink. There is no need to purchase a set of ‘vellum markers’ since the pouch makes writing on vellum with regular markers just as crisp and dark as when you write on cardstock. Try it with gel pens, stamp inks, permanent and water-based markers–even fabric markers! (Fabric markers are designed for writing on fabric, but they still bleed badly into polyester twill tape, for example as permanent Sharpies on wood bleeds into the grain.)

Happily, no. Although it works by leaving a light coating of powders, a lot of consideration went into the design to keep it neat and tidy to use! The inclusion of a lining keep hands powder-free, and the choice of felt really limits powder seepage.

Try to apply the minimum you can to still have it work–especially when using it in a printer. You will need to tap and apply a lot more powders when stamping onto fabric or wood than when inkjet printing onto vellum, which requires an extremely minimal coating. If you do see any visible traces on your final project, we recommend the Perfect Cleaning Cloth, a very high quality washable micro fiber cloth which attracts any visible residue like a magnet.

Simply wipe or tap the Pouch to release a fine coating of powders. Whether you pre-treat your surface or apply it afterwards depends upon what you want the pouch to do…

For example, pre-treat paper before inkjet printing to produce crisp results and quick drying ink, but  apply it to pigment ink after stamping to instantly dry it.

As a release agent, apply it to your molds and stamps before you work with polymer clay to keep clay from sticking; apply it to your paper after fibers have been adhered if there is double-sided tape or sticky glue residue showing.

Since very little is used in each application, it lasts a very long time. It’s hard to say how long as it depends upon how much and how often it is used. It typically lasts many years and you may never need to buy another unless you’ve loaned it out, lost it, want a new clean one, or are buying a gift for a friend.

The contents do not expire–they just eventually run out. Like powdered blush, you use so little that it seems to last forever until one day you notice it’s running out.  If used enough eventually the pouch will be empty. Then you can buy a new clean one!

We suggest leaving it in a soap dish on your work table so it’s always handy, but of course it needs to be kept dry. We never had an issue in the humid Northeast summers, and a longtime fan in Florida does the same without problems. Some people prefer to keep it in the zip plastic bag to protect and keep it clean; the downside is “Out of sight – Out of mind!”

No, but it will be messy, wasteful, and might be disruptive to your printer.

It might look bad, but unless you get something on the surface which transfers to your next project, it should be fine. You can’t wash it, but you probably won’t have to.

That will not be good at all. Definitely, keep it dry!

The Pouch is the”printing, stamping, ink-drying, embossing, anti-static, clay-releasing, sticker-deactivating Multi-Purpose Crafting Tool”. Often described as a felt ‘ravioli’ filled with a special formula of acid-free, talc-free, non-toxic powders, it does the following:

Both styles essentially do the same things and both styles are lined to keep hands neat; it’s a matter of which is easier to use on your intended project.

• The Little Pouch is about 2”x3” and is held upright to neatly treat smaller areas such as title and journaling boxes, ribbon, and popsicle sticks. It is less expensive.
• The Strap•n•Tap is 3”x3.5”, applied flat making the treatment of larger surfaces faster and easier. It’s also easier to use when drying pigment image and perhaps to apply it to work surfaces when working wth clay. It contains twice as much powders so it lasts longer, it is more expensive, (and it’s cuter)!

So while it would be more tedious to treat full sheets of paper with the Little Pouch, it could be messier to treat ribbon with the Strap•n•Tap. And while it is easier to dry pigment ink stamped images with the Strap•n•Tap, it may be easier to deactivate small stickers with the Little Pouch. We recommend the Strap•n•Tap if you’re choosing one, but both really come in handy, and they don’t go bad over time.

The different colors of the pouch are for fun not function; the contents of the pouches are all the same. Since we believe “variety is the spice of life” and “to each her own”, we make it available in an assortment of colors. (Purple lovers rejoice!)

Usually not, but it’s easy to remove the residue if it is visible.

If used on white or light colored paper, powders are practically invisible. On metallic, black, or holographic paper, we recommend gently dabbing or wiping with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth to remove the visible residue.

Just remember, in most cases, removing the powder is not necessary.

No, not everything, but If you have inking issues, this should be the first thing you reach for. It does an amazing job on so many materials, but you may get varying results with different types & brands of inks, papers, and with different materials. Also, it may take some experimentation to see what printer setting to use, how much powder you need, or which markers are improved most on what papers.

Yes, and you may find it improves the results by giving traction to slick surfaces. But either use a solvent ink (like Staz-On) or you must spray with a fixative afterwards so the ink doesn’t rub off.

Yes, but remember that results vary types and brands of inks and paper. One customer was so excited with her results that she actually sent in a comparison printing on vellum using Tim Holtz Distress Inks^TM. On the flip side, we’ve used one brand of ink that looked worse. Experiment!

Yes, the ink has a soft, chalky appearance. the Strap N Tap style is easiest for this purpose. Just make sure you have enough powder on the surface of the pouch so the ink won’t dirty the pouch. Tap it on your table or storage dish to release more powder, if necessary. Then tap on the wet image. The powders instantly dry the ink enough to over-stamp without concern of bleeding & smudging, or simply leave as is. Follow with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth to remove excess powder.Sample Description

Nope! It’s great to use before heat embossing to stop stray grains from sticking to the paper.

No, they are not the same, but the Perfect Crafting Pouch is good or better than other embossing “friends” to eliminate static. It works marvelously well to prevent stray grains of embossing powder and other fine bling from sticking where you don’t want them. These products may appear similar in how they are used, but the active ingredients are very different.

The Perfect Crafting Pouch does so many more things that stop static, though as an anti-static bag, it’s much, much neater to use!

Try any ink that you have–dye, pigment, hybrid , alcohol, or even wet colorants like those from Earth Safe FinishesTM or JacquardTM. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you can do, but expect results to vary based upon the type, brand, and media that you’re stamping. If you are experiencing an inking issue, simply do a test first. If the pouch doesn’t help, probably nothing will.

We’ve even printed on 35mm film negatives with our inkjet printer which looks really cool for travel projects. But while the pouch may improve the print quality on transparency film, a spray fixative is necessary to prevent the ink from rubbing off. After treating the transparency with the pouch and printing on normal settings, let the ink dry thoroughly. If you want to remove the powder, lightly dab with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth or a soft brush after the ink is completely dry, before spraying the fixative.

Note: Polyester film, such as film negatives and ‘write-on’ transparencies are acid free and archivally safe. Most ink jet transparencies are treated with acid to create an inkjet-friendly matte surface, and are not acid free. If archival-safety is important to you, use uncoated ‘write on’ film, or make sure the packaging specifies ‘archivally-safe’.

First, some people haven’t yet run into difficulty if they haven’t tried fancier papers such as pearly vellums or mulberry paper. Secondly, some people say they don’t have a problem, but they simply don’t realize their printing could be greatly improved. Thirdly, there are significant differences between ink and paper brands in how they work and how long they take to dry. Previously, one customer only purchased plain white office supply vellum because it was the only one which printed decently for her although it still took a long time to dry; since discovering the pouch, she is ecstatic to be able to use any pretty vellum she finds and it always dries perfectly.

The pouch is used with any brand of ink jet printer on surfaces which cause the ink to resist, smear, bleed, or dry too slowly.

Note: Just because you can use your printer to print perfectly on most any surface, doesn’t mean you should. Tortillas are delicious and may even be printable but your printer was designed for paper. Treat your printer with care and use some restraint. If you want to print on wood, use a marker. Wood just isn’t a good idea for inkjet printers!

After pre-treating your paper with the pouch, use the automatic settings or try plain paper settings with normal print quality and see which is better. Do not use transparency/draft/economy settings even for vellum because in trying to speed drying and reduce smearing, those settings lay down the least amount of ink possible; therefore if you want the dark, full bold lettering and still have quick drying ink, simply use the Pouch. Since the pouch contains a drying agent, you will not have to use a heat gun or do anything special to speed the drying. Remember to use as little as possible, yet enough to work, and blow or shake the paper to remove excess.

This trick saves vellum, specialty papers, and lets you print on little tags or create embellishments without wasting whole sheets of paper.

• Use your word processing software to write in a ‘text box’ of the perfect size for your project.
• Place the text box more or less in the center of the page.
• Print on regular inkjet paper to create a template-of-sorts.
• Then cut or tear a piece of specialty paper just large enough to cover the writing, and adhere on top of it with masking tape, temporarily re-positionable spray adhesive or tape runner.
• Treat with the Pouch before returning the paper to the printer, making sure to feed it in so that it will print again on top of the treated specialty paper.
• Reprint.
• Remove from the inkjet paper. (If you used a spray adhesive, you can remove it from the inkjet paper and simply place it onto your project.)

While we won’t guarantee that it is printer-safe, you can see from the testimonials that it’s been used for years, all over the world for this purpose and people are . However, we will not be responsible for any damage caused by using anything not specifically recommended in your printer’s user manual.

The Pouch is filled with non-irritating, non-reactive ingredients, but people with compromised breathing may want to limit how vigorously they tap to limit excessive airborne concentrations of the dust. (Although my daughter with asthma has never had any reaction, it is possible, however unlikely, that others may.)

NO! NO! NO! The powder would damage those delicate surfaces! You can use our Perfect Cleaning Cloth which safely cleans these surfaces without chemicals.

No, the pouch is talc free!

Direct contact may cause mechanical irritation. If you get it in your eyes, it will be like getting sand or other particles of dirt in your eye. It will not feel good; it could irritate or even scratch the eye, but it is not chemically stinging.

No. It is completely odorless and inert.

Yes, it’s pH neutral or slightly buffering.

No, it’s non-toxic. It’s still not great to eat as although ingestion may result in obstruction or temporary irritation of the digestive tract.

Yes. ScraPerfect is not responsible for damages caused by improper usage, or printing on surfaces not recommended in your printer’s user guide. Although many of us have been doing it for years, use at your own risk when putting any foreign material into your printer.

Apply the pouch to an acetate sheet and stamp with Staz-on^TM. (The pouch adds “traction” to reduce slippage on slick surfaces.) Turn the acetate over and apply the Perfect Crafting Pouch to the back side. Embellish the image with the Best Glue Ever and apply glitter. The glitter only sticks to the glue because the pouch has eliminated the static on the acetate. After the glue dries, wipe both sides of the acetate with The Perfect Cleaning Cloth to remove the visible traces of anti-static powder and any unstuck glitter.

Yes! It is a very neat way of stopping the clays from sticking to tools and work surfaces.

Pre-treat with the pouch by thoroughly embedding the powders into the grain of the fabric. You may need more than you typically use on paper. When you stamp, use markers, or an inkjet printer, you will see a tremendous difference–even with fabric markers intended not to bleed!

There are several related uses…When you’ve used a sticker-adhesive machine, there are often stray little stickies around your die cut letters.

Simply adhere the letters to the project and then tap with your pouch to make the sticky remnants not sticky. Or apply a 3-d dot to the back of an unexciting sticker, leaving the release paper on the dot. Apply the pouch to the back to un-sticky the sticker.

Remove the release paper and you have a cute, 3-d embellishment. Or use sticker as a mask. This is a cool idea when you have lots of unmatched or boring letter stickers.

Lightly apply the pouch to the back and place the letters onto your project. Apply ink all over and around them. (Wipe off the letters with a paper towel if they don’t dry quickly enough.)

You can easily lift and dispose of the pouch treated stickers to reveal the un-inked negative space.

Clays tends to stick to stamps, rolling pins, molds, cutters, and the table! Simply tap the pouch onto the surfaces to release a fine dusting of powders. Voila! No more sticking! If you’ve never stamped into clay, you should try it. Make very cute alphabets and embellishments stamping into polymer or paper-based clays.

Just like hair sticks to a balloon or skirts stick to pantyhose, embossing powders, glitter and other fine bling stick by static to project surfaces.

Just treat first with the pouch and static cling is gone.

Use it prior to stamping and heat embossing, and before applying glue for glitter, flock, seed beads, or other bling.

Use it on funnel trays so seed beads slide easily down the funnel.

Egg decorators love it before applying glue to the shells.

(To remove any visible residual powders, use The Perfect Cleaning Cloth after the glue is dry and after the embossing powder is heated.)

The Pouch stops bleeding and makes printing crisper with all sorts of different brands and types of inks. We were astounded at the results of permanent fabric markers when we wrote on polyester twill tape; those Marvy Uchida pigmented, permanent markers are sold for writing on fabric!

We use our regular markers (i.e. ZigTM fade-proof, archival, non-bleeding Writers and TombowTM Dual Brush non-bleeding, water-based markers) to get bold, crisp results equal to specialty vellum markers.

A customer emailed us her results of using the Pouch with CopicTM Markers because she was excited at how it stopped the notorious bleeding carmine red alcohol ink on non Copic-friendly papers. See darker, richer writing with gel pens on vellum as well. Again, experiment and have fun!
