Hello All
It’s Glen here with a nice easy project to keep an empty wine box from winding up in a landfill! I first painted the box with white Gesso to seal it and followed up with Gel Medium to fill in the wood grain on the inside which was rough compared to the outside.
Then I use the Best Glue Ever to apply G45 French Country papers to the inside of the box on both the cover and the base. You can clearly see that I only need a thin line of this glue to affix the papers.
Then using some paper I have had for many years (I can’t remember where I got it) I start re-facing the outside of the box. I removed the rope handle, knowing I’d add it back once the box was done. So once I finished the box, I poked holes through the paper and re-inserted the rope handle. I’m not sure if I want to distress this repurposed box yet or leave it clean. But I love how it turned out and the Best Glue Ever was the right adhesive for this project.
