I had so much fun making these pretty vellum flowers – I used them on a card as well as this layout.
To make flowers like these, I used plain white vellum and white pigment ink. I treated the paper with the Perfect Crafting Pouch and then stamped the entire sheet with images. Once the ink had dried, I wiped the vellum with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth to remove any powder.
After cutting out my images, I used three in a row as a border, adhering them to the paper with the Best Glue Ever. Yes – I used the Best Glue Ever on vellum. And it doesn’t show. All I needed was one small dot per flower. I waited until the glue dried tacky before placing a flower over each dot of glue.
I did the same thing for these flowers, however, I adhered them onto painted fabric circles. In our welcome packet for Inspired this spring were a handful of fabric circles (muslin?). I placed them on my craft sheet, sprayed them with a mini-mister then used a brush to apply two different colors of acrylic paint.
Once the circles were dry, I grabbed the circles in the middle and crumpled them a bit to make a flower. I used four dots of the Best Glue Ever per flower to adhere to the layout. When you use the Best Glue Ever with fabric, wait until the glue becomes tacky before placing the fabric down.
To add the vellum flowers on top, I used a couple small dots of the Best Glue Ever. Once again, you can’t see the glue!
