Summer Shabby Chic Botanical Travelers Notebook

Hello everyone, Kim L. here today for ScraPerfect to share with you a project I have been working on for a while.  I designed a travelers notebook with a shabby chic and botanical theme to hold mementos of a wonderful summer vacation.  This is the very first travelers notebook that I have made and I hope you like it!  Here it is:

I really enjoyed both constructing this travelers notebook and embellishing it!  I did it all in stages and actually carried it around with me, along with my bottle of the Best Glue Ever and added details on the go too.  I have since decided to carry a bottles of the Best Glue Ever and the Best Cleaner Ever in my crafty travel tote from now on.  As always, I have the large No Clog Writing Cap on my glue bottle for both precision and to ensure I don’t waste glue.  The best part about using only the Best Glue Ever in this project is that it adhered a wide variety of materials as seen in the photos below, including: buttons, fabric, ribbon flowers, paper doilies, glassine bags, and more!  For paper, I used tiny dots throughout and on heavier items and embellishments, I made glue dots and waited a bit for the glue to cure and turn clear before attaching to the notebook.

I created this notebook in a shabby chic style with botanicals in mind.  I envisioned it being a fabulous way to hold precious memories and souvenirs of a lovely summer trip or garden tour.  Here are some of the pages in my travelers notebook:

Here is the front cover where I attached a butterfly embellishment as a tuck spot and post it note pad.  This notebook features some pretty pink hand dyed paper that was gifted to me from a friend.

A belly band of gray velvet ribbon holds and embellished alteration tag in place.

Tea dyed paper stamped with a pretty dress stamp mounted on a music paper sheet with a motivational quote and pretty flower embellishment
Cardboard tab embellished with a printed digital by Shabbydabbydoodah and a bit of washi and a threaded button

Embellished paper doily serving as a pocket for a receipt and index cards

Embellished floral playing card tuck spot

The back cover houses a decorated glassine bag to hold ephemera and journaling cards

I hope you enjoyed a quick tour of my first travelers notebook and hope you will try one too!  Just head over to ScraPerfect to get your supplies, and follow them on social media while you’re there, and you’re all set!  Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back next month for a few more projects.

Crafty Blessings,
