Hi everyone! Leslie here, and I’m back on the blog today sharing a couple cool masculine cards. I created two vintage Father’s Day cards using digital images, sentiment and papers. Everybody needs masculine cards in their stash, so let’s get started!
Masculine cards are intimidating to a lot of crafters but they need not be! There are a lot of rubber/clear stamp sets out there with awesome masculine images and sentiments, and there are also lots of digital images and sentiments out there that make very cool masculine cards. The trick is to settle on a masculine theme and build upon it but keep a relatively simple design. I chose two vintage vehicles and printed the images on linen cardstock. I cut them with stitched rectangle dies and adhered them to coordinating cardstock with Best Glue Ever and a No-Clog Writing Cap. I chose gingham digital papers in bold masculine colors and printed the them on linen cardstock as well, and trimmed pieces to go across the bottom of the card fronts, adhering with Best Glue Ever. I created small sentiment banners which I adhered with Best Glue Ever and embellished with a small square gemstone. Not too girly, lol! 😉
The sentiments on the front and inside of these cards are the same, printed on smooth ivory cardstock. I embellished each inside panel with the gingham paper used on the front, adhering with Best Glue Ever. I adhered the panels to coordinating cardstock with Best Glue Ever and adhered the panels to the inside of the card bases with Best Glue Ever.
