How To Make a Beautiful Valentine’s Day Box

It’s hard to believe, but January will soon be over and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  My kids are now out of elementary school, so while I don’t have to assemble 30 valentines (the night before) I still like to celebrate at home.

I saw these cute pre-cut boxes at Michaels last week and picked a few up, along with several packs of paper flowers.  From my stash I pulled wooden embellishments, stick pins, ribbon, and glittered chipboard — and my bottle of the Best Glue Ever.

Just a few small dots of the Best Glue Ever is all that’s needed to hold this paper flower.  If the flower is more rounded than flat, I make a glue spot on a scrap piece of release paper and let it sit until tacky.  This lets me avoid holding the flower in place until the glue sets up.  If you like to use glue spots, make a whole sheet at once! The beauty of making them yourself is you can make them any size you need.

For gluing and adhering these tiny flowers I grabbed my Embellie Gellie.  I was easily able to pick up a flower and hold it while applying a tiny drop of the Best Glue Ever.  Much easier than trying to hold them between your fingers!

And here’s my finished box.  I’ll fill the box with Valentine’s tissue, chocolates and treats — and a homemade card.
