Hi All,
Amy here with a beautiful card found on the Ritz Dye Blog! (CLICK THERE)
created by the “Ritzers”.
• If you don’t have a gold leafing pen, apply a very thin amount of the Best Glue Ever to the edge of the doily and use Designer Transfer Foils. If you don’t know how to use foils, click HERE for a short tutorial.
• Instead of heat setting the stamp on the vellum, tap the Perfect Printing Pouch for instant drying! (The Strap N Tap style is recommended.) If you don’t know about this amazing tool, CLICK HERE for a video or on the image below.
Step By Step
-
Cover work surface with plastic table cover.
-
Wearing craft gloves, mix 2 tablespoons Petal Pink dye with 2 cups very hot water (140º F); pour into shallow container.
-
Immerse one paper heart doily in dye bath until it absorbs the dye. Remove and set on paper towels to dry. Note: To speed up the drying process, dyed paper can be placed in the microwave on high for 1 minute.
-
Immerse 8 1/2” x 11” sheet of parchment paper until it absorbs the dye. Remove from dye and place on paper towels to dry.
-
Wearing craft gloves, mix 1 teaspoon Violet dye with 1 cup very hot water; pour into shallow container. Immerse second paper heart doily in Violet dye bath. Remove and set on paper towels to dry.
-
Immerse 8 1/2” x 11” sheet of white card stock in Violet dye bath. Remove and set on paper towels to dry. When dry, lift from paper towel to reveal the pattern which has transferred from the paper towel to the dyed card stock.
-
Cut gold card stock to 6 1/4” x 6 1/4”. Cut parchment paper to 10 3/4” x 5 1/2”.
-
Use small artist’s paint brush to apply Violet dye directly from the bottle onto “love” rubber stamp. Stamp onto dry, dyed Petal Pink parchment paper repeatedly to form overall background pattern. Re-apply dye between some stampings, but allow it to be lighter on others. Place stamped parchment paper on paper towels and heat set in the microwave on high for 1 minute.
-
Cut piece of stamped, dyed Petal Pink parchment to 5 1/2” x 6”. Measure over approximately 1/2” and score.
-
Cut dyed Violet cardstock to approximately 5 3/4” x 5 3/4”. Mount centered on front of gold card stock.
-
Cut second piece of dyed Violet cardstock to 4 1/2” x 5”.
-
Use paintbrush to apply Violet dye directly to verse stamps (“love” and “with all your heart”), stamp onto scrap piece of dyed Petal Pink parchment paper. Trim to fit, as shown on inside of card.
-
Using ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever, mount larger piece of stamped parchment paper (with scored edge folded inward) centered on Violet card stock.
-
Using ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever, mount Violet dyed heart doily to center of card front.
-
Gather small bunch of faux flowers, tie with ribbon and mount on Violet heart doily, as shown.
-
Using ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever, mount smaller piece of stamped Petal Pink parchment paper, against folded edge, over dyed Violet card stock.
-
Using ScraPerfect’s Best Glue Ever, mount smaller piece of dyed Violet card stock over patterned paper.
-
Measure and cut piece of ribbon 6” in length to fit vertically on inside of card and mount approximately 3/8” from right edge.
-
