How to Make a Monochromatic Valentine Card with Foil Accent

Ahhh, Valentine season – hearts and flowers, reds and pinks!  I love crafting for this holiday.  Today I am sharing a cute monochromatic card with a Transfer Foils accent.

Let’s get started.

Gather:

  • Transfer Foils – Red
  • Best Glue Ever
  • White (smooth) Cardstock Base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ – scored at 4-1/4″ and folded)
  • Red Patterned Cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″)
  • Red Ink
  • Chipboard Heartbeat Symbol
  • Red Acrylic Paint
  • Hearts Dew Drop

Make it:

  • Start by inking the edges of your red patterned paper in red
  • Using Best Glue Ever, attach patterned paper to card base (remember, you only need a small amount of BGE to get good adhesion!)
  • Smooth and press patterned paper to card base with Perfect Cleaning Cloth
  • Put a coat of red acrylic paint on chipboard heartbeat symbol, let dry thoroughly

To apply Transfer Foil:

  • Spread a thin layer of Best Glue Ever on chipboard and let dry TO CLEAR (it will be tacky)
  • Place Transfer Foil (color side up) on your chipboard with glue and press and rub with your finger or a craft stick, remove foil sheet
  • Glue heartbeat symbol to card
  • Glue Hearts Dew Drop to card using Embellie Gellie for precise placement
Look at that lush metallic coverage!

  • To finish off card, stamp a heart inside
  • And don’t forget to “sign” the back of your card
  • Tapping the Perfect Crafting Pouch on your paper before stamping helps to get a nice crisp image!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today – After seeing how easy this technique is, I hope you are inspired to try the beautiful Transfer Foils to add a bit of “WOW” to your craft projects!

Have a creative week!
